Motor City Jazz Octet is a Detroit-based, veteran jazz ensemble led by drummer Joe Syrian. Known for a "little big band" sound, they blend classic, eclectic, and contemporary jazz, featuring 8 musicians on works like the 2024 album Secret Message and 2026 album A Blue Time. They are highly regarded for tight, arranged performances in venues and on recordings.
